Another Little Persson is almost here!

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our second "Little Persson". Lillian (aka Lily) is due in just a few weeks. (Her middle name is still to be determined.) Lilies popped up in our yard ready to greet her arrival:

Happy Spring

Abby had an egg hunt at school today. Seeing all the kids leaving school with their bunny ears on was really adorable.

I'm pretty sure this was Abby's first experience with hard-boiled eggs:

She was quite bothered by how the shells started coming off after she had dropped them a few times.

Impressive but Disconcerting

We haven't had any posts for a while because we haven't been able to find the cable that connects the camera to the computer. Well, I just found it, plugged into the back of the TV. I'm impressed that Abby found holes that fit the cable properly. I'm worried she is going to break our TV.

One Track Mind

(This was cute because she wasn't whining.)

Mom: Good Morning, Abby!
Abby: I want chocolate!
Mom: (Pause) Chocolate is a special treat. We don't have special treats for breakfast.
Abby: I want to eat it!
Mom: You can have cereal or oatmeal.
Abby: I want to put it in my mouth!

Skyping with Grandma and Grandpa

We have a weekly skype call with Grandma and Grandpa that is a lot of fun. Abby's favorite thing to do with them is play tea party.

She also thought it was pretty funny when Grandma and Grandpa went and got hats to match the one she put on.

Boo-boos

Abby is suddenly very interested in her boo-boos. Here is how it generally goes:

1) Report boo-boo to concerned adult, such as her babysitter, and get kisses if necessary. (The boo-boo in this case was quite minor and resulted in zero crying).

2) Examine more closely

3) Give kisses to self (if possible)

4) Repeat examining and discussing boo-boo until scar completely disappears.

Spring is here

Actually today it is over 90 but it is not expected to stay that warm for long.

Waiting to get changed before going out to play:

It took a little coaching to convince her that it was ok to go out without her shoes, but then she really liked it.

"Hey, my stick broke!"

"Two!" The steps must be counted each time in English, Arabic, Spanish or some combination.

Off to Work

Abby likes to grab a purse (or 2 or 3) and tell us she is off to work or to the store. She gives us hugs and kisses and goes out the door.

Yesterday, she got all ready to go to work and threw her bag of playdough supplies over her shoulder.

Big Girl Bed

Given that Abby has been able to freely climb in and out of her bed for a month or so now, we decided to convert her crib into a bed.

First she checked it out on her own,

and then Daddy climbed in to show her how good big girl beds are for tickling.
