Now that Abby can put the hat on, she doesn't want to take it off.

Starting to Dress Herself
Abby is really interested in how clothes get on her body. At this point the only item she can successfully put on is a hat.
You can also see our new furniture (and a big pile of furniture blankets we are not sure what to do with.)

New Shoes
Today Abby tried on her first pairs of rubber soled shoes. (Up until this point she has been wearing leather soled shoes, which are better for learning to walk.) Both pairs were gifts from Grandma and Grandpa.
These black ones worked out pretty well. Abby really enjoys the noise they make.
These ones are more like clown shoes at this point. We'll put them away for a few more months.

The more things change,
the more they stay the same.
Although Abby has started to help me put away toys from time to time, sometimes without any prompting from me, she never wants her books on the bookcase. As soon as I put them away she starts pulling them down and reading them. Unfortunately they are quite a hazard when they are all over the floor.

Happy Valentine's Day
It wasn't the most romantic evening Dan and I have ever had, but it was fun. We went to Fudrucker's where Abby got a free Valentine's balloon.
Sorry about the picture quality. They were taken with the iPhone.

Dancing!
This may be the cutest video yet...
Update: Papa asked how much dancing is in the video she is watching. The answer is none. It's about farm animals.

Shoes
There is not too much action in this clip but it gives you the sense of the kinds of things Abby does to entertain herself.
She does leave a lot of mess in her wake, but has recently decided that a few (a very few) of her toys are to be put away when she is done with them. I am really excited about that!

Wizard of Oz
Just like her Nana, Abby has really taken to the Wizard of Oz. So far she just likes finding pictures of the doggie and the lion. We'll read it to her when her attention span gets a little longer.

Could be (a lot ) worse...
This evening Abby whined and whined until I let her get into the refrigerator to get what she wanted. It turned out to be a pickle.
Dan used to get pickles as a treat when he was well-behaved in the grocery store. I guess it runs in the family.
